ABOUT PERRY HARVEY SR. PARK
Perry Harvey Sr. Park is across the street from the Encore buildings and the Navara in downtown Tampa. In partnership with the City of Tampa, this
11-acre park was redeveloped and featured artwork celebrating the history of the former Central Avenue historic African American business district.
Historical monuments celebrate local and national historical figures. Perry Harvey Sr. Park opened in March 2016. Amenities now include Leaders’ Row, honoring the past leaders of Central Avenue, the iconic Bro Bowl, an interactive fountain, basketball courts, and performance space. This is one of the few parks in Florida, if not the only one, that permanently commemorates African American culture with public art, live entertainment, and thoughtful community spaces which is why it is an honor to have the inaugural Be Out Day Tampa Bay be apart of its rich legacy. Guests are encouraged to bring tents and picnic friendly items for a fun-filled day with FAMULY and Friends while adhering to park regulations.
